How the Coinradar VALT Score ® works

The VALT Score ® rates crypto products and services from 0 to 100. It gives you one consistent view of exchanges, wallets, cards, staking platforms, lending products and crypto-friendly banks, judged against what matters in each category rather than a headline fee or a single feature.

What VALT stands for

Every product is assessed under four pillars. Together they cover what it costs, how easy it is to use, how it has held up, and how safe it is to trust with your money.

Value

The overall value for money you get.

  • Trading fees and spreads
  • Withdrawal charges
  • Subscriptions
  • Features and rewards you receive

Access

How easy it is to open and use an account.

  • Identity verification
  • Minimum deposits
  • Usability and customer support
  • Availability to UK customers

Legacy

The provider's track record over time.

  • Operating history
  • Reliability
  • How outages and hacks were handled
  • Conduct through market stress

Trust

Regulatory and reliability considerations.

  • UK compliance
  • FCA registration where relevant
  • Regulatory standing
  • Reliability considerations

What the scores mean

Every score falls into one of five bands. The band tells you at a glance where a product sits; the number tells you exactly.

A higher score is not a recommendation. Always check that a product fits what you need.

CautionScore 0 to 59

Lower-performing products with significant weaknesses. We recommend exploring better alternatives.

How we build a score

The same three steps for every product we rate.

  1. 1

    Criteria for each category

A wallet is judged on what matters for a wallet, and a card on what matters for a card. Each category has its own criteria, so a score only compares like with like.

  2. 2

    Scored across four pillars

Each product gets a sub-score for Value, Access, Legacy and Trust. These combine into one score out of 100.

  3. 3

    Independently assessed

Scores follow the Coinradar VALT Score ® methodology and are assessed independently using objective criteria.

Reading a score in a comparison

In our tables you'll see the score as a number with its band beside it. Sort by score, then check the details that matter to you.
